To care for someone, 24 hrs
a day, every day, is a profoundly challenging experience. It
can very quickly bring one face to face with one's physical,
emotional, mental and spiritual limitations. The challenge, if
one is to maintain an alive relationship with one's partner,
is to keep on growing in awareness and constantly achieve new
levels of mental, emotional and spiritual growth.
This means that most carers
are truly remarkable people.
We have this dream :
- That together, especially if we pool experiences,
we can find a cure for ME, or at least be an authoritative voice
in the controversy and debate that still rages around ME, to
the despair of many sufferers and carers.
- That a forum can be created for carers to
express themselves : creatively, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually,
transcending the limits posed by the illness, poverty or distance.
- That the complexity of the carer experience
is fully acknowledged by colleges, universities and employers.
- That all carers have the opportunity, if
they so wish, to have their experience recognised, validated
and fully accredited.
- That there is an accessible range of courses
and general education for all carers.
carersTogether is deeply committed to
the the principles of partnership .
